The Diagonal Community Development Corporation serves the community of Diagonal, Iowa and surrounding areas.

Purpose:

The corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for charitable purposes consisting primarily of the improvement of the economic welfare of the city of Diagonal and the surrounding community and the improvement of the quality of life for its inhabitants through the development of industrial, business, and professional opportunities as measured by increased employment, payroll, business volume and corresponding factors.

Northeast Ringgold County Alliance or NERA is a 501c3 established in 2010 to better the place where we live, work, and play. Also created was the Union Township Endowment through the Southwest Iowa Community Foundation. Annual interest from the endowment is used for projects in Union and Tingley townships. Recent projects completed were purchasing new Christmas decorations for City of Ellston, new sidewalk for the Ellston park, and donating to the Tingley Betterment foundation. Join us on September 6 for our annual Party in the Park in Ellston for freewill donation music and supper. Anyone interested in NERA can contact Nan Derscheid at 641-340-0234.
